DEFEATING THE 31 semifinalists, Miss Russia Ksenia Sukhinova became the Miss World 2008 on Sunday (December 14). While Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan became the first runner up, Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Gabrielle Walcott, became the second runner up.

The Indians felt proud as the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World’08 Parvathy Omanakuttan won the first runner up position. She was also the second runner-up at the Miss World Top Model contest that took place at Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication in Soweto, South Africa on December 3. Omanakuttan won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2008 in December last year, from where she started for the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2008 title in April.

Among the top five performers, Miss Angola, Brigith dos Santos, ranked third and Miss Russia, Ksenia Sukhinova, stood fourth. Miss South Africa, Tansey Coetzee, grabbed the fifth position.
